Our #ShameFreeDentistry Policy

“I’m afraid that I will be shamed or judged by the dentist.”

You are a patient and you have the right to not be judged, no matter the state of your oral health. As a health care provider, Dr. Wright and his team evaluate where your oral health stands and give you options to maintain and improve your confidence in your smile, with compassion and professionalism.

“One of the most surprising things that I’ve discovered is many patients don’t really have a fear of the dental procedures themselves, but rather a fear that the dentist or staff will judge them for the condition of their teeth.

My job is to give you all of the options, and there are almost always options. It’s rare that we can’t help. Dentistry is our passion and there is no greater professional satisfaction than helping a patient regain the functionality of their teeth by restoring their smile and their confidence. We will never guilt or embarrass anyone who takes the time to see us.”

“How did my teeth get so bad?”

There are many reasons that you may have more issues with your teeth than someone else. It can be as basic as a habitual habit that you are unaware of, or perhaps dental care was not readily available to you when you were a child, thus good dental habits were not instilled to you at a young age. Some people are just genetically predisposed to have more cavities than others. Whatever the reason, we want you to know that the Cornerstone Dental office is a judgment free zone; our singular goal is to help you and your family regain and maintain your oral health – no matter what the reasons are.

“I’m afraid it’s more than I can afford.”

Dental treatment is never inexpensive, but we offer a variety of options to help elevate the burden of treatment costs.

The first thing we do at Cornerstone Dental is that we keep all of our fees at the average price for the Martinsburg area. We are never the cheapest price, but neither are we the most expensive. We do this to ensure that our patients know that they are receiving a fair price and safe from the old “bait and switch” where you come in for a low cost cleaning and are then charged a much higher than average fee to have a cavity filled or a crown done.

Secondly, when possible, we will create a treatment plan that can be implemented over the course of months (or even years) so that the expense can be spread out over time. If you have dental benefits, spreading it across time may allow you to take better advantage of your dental insurance benefits, helping you minimize the out of pocket expenses your insurance company requires.

If you require more immediate care, we also offer financing solutions through CareCredit which allows you to pay for your dental needs over time, interest free, for 6 or 12 months.

If you ever have questions regarding how Cornerstone Dental determines pricing, how to maximize your benefits or the specifics of CareCredit, please don’t hesitate to call or email us. We are happy to set up an in office consultation with the Practice Administrator, Will Wright, to answer your questions, meet the staff and find the financial solution to help get you the care you need.
