How to Ensure Your Dental Appointment Goes Smoothly

At Cornerstone Dental, we aim to make dental care as easy and painless as possible for each and every patient we see.

We firmly believe that patient comfort and convenience are essential for a smooth dental appointment. While our dedicated and highly trained staff go above and beyond to make even the most nervous patients feel comfortable during their visits, there are some things you can do to help us ensure that your next dental appointment goes smoothly:
    • Aim to arrive at our office 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to sign in and update insurance information and patient forms, if necessary.
    • Bring a list of all the medications, vitamins, and supplements you’re currently taking. Include the dosage information.
    • Tell us about any medical problems, such as allergies, chronic illnesses, or injuries that you have. Knowing this information helps us provide you with the best dental care for your specific needs.
    • Make a list of any questions you have for us, and bring it to your appointment. Are you wondering if you’re flossing correctly or why you can’t taste food like you used to? Don’t hesitate to ask us about anything related to your oral health.
    • Be honest about your oral health care habits. If you don’t floss regularly, don’t tell us that you do. You won’t do yourself any favors by giving us false information. We won’t judge you for having poor oral health habits, but we will give you advice for improving them.
    • If you have dental anxiety, let us know. Don’t be afraid to tell us about your fears. We’ll work with you to find a way to help you relax so that you can get the dental care you need. Some patients, for instance, find that nitrous oxide (laughing gas) calms them during their visits.
    • Schedule follow-up appointments before you leave. If you need follow-up care or want to book your next teeth cleaning, schedule it before you leave our office so you don’t forget to do it later.
    • Practice proper dental hygiene all the time! Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss daily to keep your mouth clean and healthy and minimize your risk of needing to visit us for more than just routine cleanings and exams every six months.
