1) Yearly Maximum
Your yearly maximum is the most money that your dental insurance plan will pay for any eligible dental services you receive within one full year. While the yearly maximum varies from insurance to insurance, most yearly maximums typically range between $1,000 to $1,500 per person, per year. The yearly maximum on most plans resets every year on January 1st and if you have any unused benefits they do not rollover to the following year, so be sure to “use them before you lose them.”.
2) Deductible
Your deductible is the amount of money that you must pay out of pocket before your dental insurance company will pay for any dental procedures. Deductibles vary between different insurance providers but the average deductible ranges between $50 to $100 every year. Even if you don’t usually require dental treatment, having your regularly scheduled 6 month cleaning and exam will help prevent and detect dental problems earlier.
