After we took over Dr. James Gibson’s dental practice when he retired earlier this year, we decided to update our office space and equipment. We replaced many of the dental chairs, and we also purchased two state-of-the-art Sirona operating chairs that enable us to perform advanced procedures, including extractions, endodontic therapy, and implants, that only specialists used to be able to offer.

We also replaced the old panorex X-ray machine with a new digital model that allows us to see more detailed 2-D images as well as 3-D images. Our new digital X-ray sensors likewise give us more detailed images than traditional film X-rays.

Better images of your teeth help us diagnose problems sooner and treat them before they become more serious (and expensive to fix). By spotting a minor cavity early on, for instance, we may be able to treat it with a simple filling rather than a root canal.

Our Cavitron Ultrasonic Scaler is another modern piece of equipment that helps us increase the comfort of our patients. Using water pressure and air, the Cavitron removes plaque and stains from teeth, reducing the need for scraping as well as the time it takes to clean teeth during routine visits.
